The
WIA Youth Program is a youth employment
and training program funded through the Workforce Investment
Act (WIA). The program serves eligible youth ages 14 to 21
who reside in Pierce County. The Champions of Tomorrow program
emphasizes job readiness skills and educational achievement.
The goal of the program is to build skills that provide participants
with the foundation for future success. |

Each
participant is provided with individualized services that
are based on his/her needs and goals. Services may include:
- Basic
skills attainment (High School Diploma or GED)
- Case
management
- Pre-employment
education such as how to fill out job applications,
resume writing, and interviewing skills
- Career
exploration ( job shadowing, internships, and paid work
experiences)

- Financial
assistance for tuition and supplies
- Support

year follow up services upon completion of the program
